After staying low for quite a while, director Harish Shankar has now got back on his heels, and will be starting work on his next project which has been titled Valmiki. The film is an official remake of Karthik Subbaraj’s 2014 directorial Jigarthanda, which had Siddharth and Bobby Simhaa in the lead. While the makers had already finalized Varun Tej to reprise Bobby’s role, they had taken a lot of time looking at options for who could fit into Siddharth’s shoes.
With Naga Shourya and Sree Vishnu being the first two options, Harish has now initiated talks with Tamil actor Atharvaa for the role. Being a famous young face in Kollywood, it would be interesting to see if the actor indeed boards the project and makes his debut in the neighboring industry.
Atharvaa is currently looking forward to the release of his action thriller Boomerang, which hits the screens on the 1st of March. The actor has gone the long mile for this film, for he even tonsured his head for the all-important climax. Boomerang is said to deal with student politics, and features Indhuja and RJ Balaji in pivotal roles apart from Megha Akash as the heroine. The film has been written and directed by R Kannan.
