Jiivi, the recent successful Tamil film, to be remade in Bollywood soon!
After Jiivi, Vetri will reportedly be seen in two other films!
Actor Vetri’s second film Jiivi, which was released on 28 June, is already accepted as a refreshing thriller. It is a movie that made us realize that a thriller movie needs a slick script and uncanny implementation to keep the audience on the edge of their seats. The praises from the audience seem to have spread fast, for there has been a remake offer from the Bollywood already. Actor Vetri let the news out while discussing the movie’s success with the press. Jiivi is produced by the Vetrivel Saravana Cinemas, written by Babu Tamizh and directed by debutant Gopinath. Along with Vetri, veteran actor Rohini is also being praised for her performance as the landlady. Vetri had debuted with blockbuster film 8 Thottakkal, where he played an honest cop. 8 Thottakkal also had veterans like Nassar and MS Bhaskar.
The role he has in Jiivi takes him to the exact opposite of the spectrum: he is intelligent, but the cynical man who decides to rob his landlady after facing too many hurdles in life. Even as he thinks of ways to sidestep the cops after the act, he realizes that he is only part of a history that is repeating itself. The character is named Saravanan and the movie makes no apologies for the kind of person he is. He also has a sidekick, played by comedian Karunakaran. The actor attributes the success of the film to its content: the story is very different from what we are used to seeing on the screen. Both 8 Thottakkal and Jiivi were produced by Vetri’s father.
Talking to the media about the success of the movie, Vetri was liberal with praises for the movies off-screen staff. Saying that Tamil film writers weren’t usually given the attention they deserve, he went on to praise the work that went into the movie's screenplay and editing too. Vetri has reportedly signed two more films.Read More
