The grand success meet of LKG took place on Wednesday evening, with the presence of the entire crew including RJ Balaji, Priya Anand and director Prabhu. Made on a budget of just 3.5 crores, the film grossed 11 crores in its first week in Tamil Nadu alone, emerging a blockbuster success. Producer Isari Ganesh, who was in great praise of the team for pulling off such a project within a short span of time and without any losses to him, revealed a lot of facts about how the film came together.
Ganesh said, “RJ Balaji and the team first wanted to cast Ramarajan as the antagonist in the film, but ultimately went on to pick JK Rithesh as they felt he was apt for the role.” He also jocularly added that he would cast Rithesh in all his films hereon as the actor-politician brought his own costumes and many junior artists to the sets.
Continuing his joyful speech, Ganesh advised RJ Balaji to be careful of his next choices, keeping in mind the success rates of the comedians who have turned actors in the recent past. The producer also seems to have struck a great chord with distributor Sakthivelan, saying that he would hand over the distribution responsibilities of all his five upcoming films to the same house. Working together for LKG, the team seem to have made a big new set of friends, which could lead to many repeat combinations in the future!
