The 2003 cop action movie Kaakha Kaakha starring Suriya, Jyothika, Daniel Balaji and Jeevan was directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu's V Creations. This project turned out to change the careers of every single person involved in it. Kaakha Kaakha is till date one of the biggest blockbusters ever, for Suriya and GVM. This duo have been rumoured to be coming back together for another project, for a very long time.
At some point of time, it was very strongly reported that Suriya was to work in Gautham Menon's project Dhruva Natchathiram. Subsequent reports stated that Suriya had walked out of this project and that there were major differences of opinion between him and the director. When no more talks of the two uniting came about, it rather became confirmed that there was indeed bad blood between them. From the middle of last year (2018), director GVM had been hinting in interviews that he was in talks with Suriya to start a project together. Now, we have confirmed news that GVM and Suriya are going to be working together in a project soon.
This Suriya-GVM movie is to be bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Thanu's V Creations and talks are on to finalise things. Sources close to the producer reveal, "V Creations is producing a project with Suriya in the lead, under Gautham Vasudev Menon's direction. This project is confirmed, however when it would get underway is yet to be finalised." Suriya's NGK is gearing up for release and his Kaappaan is in the final stages of shoot. His next project is with director Sudha Kongara of Irudhi Suttru fame. GVM is involved in a couple of projects - Enai Noki Paayum Thotta with Dhanush, Dhruva Natchathiram with Vikram, Queen - Jayalalitha's biopic, VTV 2, a project with Arun Vijay and a couple of acting ventures also
