Suriya has not had a release since January 2018, when his film with Vignesh Shivn - Thaana Serndha Koottam, got released. After that it has been a lull of sorts for this Singam hero. However, now this break will soon be over with two releases of his, i.e. Kaappaan and NGK this year. The former is with director KV Anand and the latter is with Selvaraghavan. NGK is long in the production and a trailer that got released recently has given Suriya fans much needed hope.
Coming to Kaappaan, a film directed by KV Anand, with whom Suriya is teaming up for the 3rd time (after Ayan and Maattrraan), it is said to be the story of a security guard - Suriya, for the Prime Minister of India, played by Mohanlal. The film has an ensemble cast in the form of Arya, Sayyeshaa, Samuthirakani and others. Bollywood actor Boman Irani is making his Tamil debut, in this film produced by Lyca. Harris Jayaraj has composed the music for Kaappaan and MS Prabhu is wielding the camera, while Anthony is handling the editing.
Director K V Anand had tweeted on Wednesday that Arya had wrapped up his portions for the film. He was all praise for the star. Our sources from the unit said, " The unit worked towards wrapping up Arya's portions quickly, to let him enjoy time off for his wedding." Whatever it is, it looks like the entire shoot also will soon be wrapped up to facilitate an August release.
Arya and Sayyeshaa's marriage will take place on 9th March.
