Vemal, who initially appeared in a number of uncredited roles in movies like Thalapathy's Ghilli and Thala's Kireedam, shot to fame with director Pandiraj's Pasanga and also a number of other movies like Kalavani and Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga. He was last seen in Ivanukku Engeyo Macham Irukku, which failed to make a mark at the box office. It has now come to light that Vemal and a group of his friends got into an altercation with a little-known Kannada actor at a Virugambakkam service apartment, a couple of days back. Following this, the Kannada actor Abhishek was admitted to a hospital and cases have been registered against Vemal and his friends.
Talking about this, a person present near the scene of the alleged crime said, "It was around 1.30 am when a group of men came to the service apartment asking for a room. There was some miscommunication and the group and Abhishek, who was a guest here, got into a heated war of words. This quickly escalated and the group started fighting with each other. It was a little while later that we came to know that Vemal was also part of the group attacking Abhishek." Following this scuffle, Abhishek was admitted to a hospital and the police also got involved.
We hear that following a complaint from Abhishek, the Virugambakkam Police have registered cases against Vemal and his three friends under the section 294b (using profanity as a form of abuse) and section 323 (voluntarily causing harm). However, when the police and media tried to reach out to Vemal, his mobile phone has been found to be switched off and he is reportedly absconding. There are also reports that the service apartment building's CCTV footage shows all that happened, including one of Vemal's friends damaging 2 CCTV cameras. Stay tuned for further updates...
