KGF sequel: Vada Chennai actor Shakthi Saran joins the cast of this Yash film
Sanjay Dutt will also be seen in the sequel as the main antagonist.
If you've seen the north Madras action-crime film Vada Chennai, you probably remember Saran Shakthi, the younger brother of Aishwarya Rajesh who tails Dhanush through a pivotal period in the movie. The young actor tweeted earlier this week that he will be part of another much-awaited movie which is a sequel - KGF-2. "Salaam all Rocky fans out there, so so happy to be working in KGF chapter 2 with this super amazing team and especially the super cool friendly director Prashanth Neel sir," tweeted the Sagaa actor: "Thank you so much for having me." K.G.F: Chapter 1 was written and directed by Prahsanth Neel with popular star Yash owning the screen in a badass beard.
It was the first Sandalwood film to release as a pan-south India bilingual and had by Yash's own admission, multiplied the number of fans the star had. Set in the Kolar Gold Fields of the gang eras, KGF talks about a man's struggle to the top of a murky, gangster-monopolised business run with the blood of innumerable slaves. We have seen the protagonist seize KGF, we know the chapter-2 has him as the biggest fugitive in India. Shakthi Saran is expected to play the teen years of protagonist Rocky.
KGF chapter 2 will also be a pan-south India bilingual and will see most of the original actors reprising their roles. Sanjay Dutt, who had to opt out of KGF: 1 due to date issues, will be seen in the sequel as the main antagonist, Adhira. With KGF also made with vibes similar to that of Agneepath, we can see hope for yet another stellar performance from Sanjay Dutt.
The shooting isgoing on in full swing and the crew is beyond ecstatic over the national films the KGF received - one for visual effects and the other for action choreography. The producers are hoping to finish shooting by the end of this year and the movie will tentatively hit the screens in the summer of 2020.Read More
