There was a press meet in Chennai for the upcoming Yash starrer KGF on Monday night. Vishal, who will be releasing the film in the state amid heavy competition on December 21st, was also present and was extremely generous and gracious in speaking highly of Yash and introducing him to the Tamil media.
Vishal recalled how Yash was the first from Bangalore to react and send a truck of supplies and relief materials when Chennai was ravaged by floods back in 2015. To loud applause, Vishal called Yash’s father a real hero as he was still working as a bus driver even after his son had become a superstar in Kannada cinema.
Yash talked about how the film audience doesn’t have any bias and how he sees the cinema theatre as a temple where all kinds of the audience sit together and see a film. He made the effort to speak in Tamil and said it’s paramount to respect the values, language and culture of any place that one visits. Yash also said that he didn’t take up offers to do Tamil films in the past as he didn’t want to do something just for the sake of it, without understanding the Tamil land and culture.
KGF is a multilingual film and is the biggest project from Kannada cinema. It will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi in addition to Kannada, on December 21st.
