Hailing from the Keradi village in the Kundapur Taluk of coastal Karnataka, Rishab Shetty has materialised his dream of becoming a hero, with the latest release Bell Bottom. Rishab faced bullying trouble in his childhood before migrating to Bengaluru to pursue his long-term dreams of getting into Cinema. He achieved it by starting off as an assistant director to AMR Ramesh in the critically acclaimed Cyanide before making his acting debut in Tuglak. After doing a couple of supporting roles, Rishab debuted as a director in the 2016 movie Ricky. He got is big break through his very next project Kirik Party, which broke a number of records and went on to have a 150-day theatrical run!
Rishab also won the Filmfare award for Best Director, for Kirik Party. His dream of acting as a hero came true under Jayatheertha's direction, in Bell Bottom. When asked what it felt like to act in other directors' movies after having been a director himself, he replied, "I switched off as a director, and concentrated only on acting. Any doubts I had, I cleared them during the reading. I didn’t want any clash of ideologies. Moreover, Jayatheertha is a senior director who has a certain vision for his project."
Reminiscing about his college days in Bengaluru, where he pursued his B Com degree, Rishab revealed that he used to take on odd jobs while studying and one of these was delivering water cans. When one day, he delivered water cans to an upcoming film institute, he immediately gathered all details about the place and signed up for an acting class here.
