It is now a well-known fact that R Madhavan is making his directorial debut with Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, a film based on the life of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan who was falsely levied with espionage charges and arrested in 1994. The actor is portraying the role of Nambi himself in this real-life story that will narrate the events in the life of scientist over the period of 40 years. The latest exciting update from the camp is that Madhavan has approached Suriya to play a special guest appearance in the film, to which the star has almost given his nod.
Madhavan and Suriya share a great rapport after becoming thick friends during the shoot of the Mani Ratnam film Aayutha Ezhuthu, in which they starred together. The duo have been spotted at many parties and family gatherings together. Madhavan was seen in a special cameo playing Jyothika’s husband in the 2017 film Magalir Mattum, which was produced by Suriya. It would be great to see the NGK actor return the favor through Rocketry.
Rocketry has been made as a trilingual in English, Hindi and Tamil. Madhavan and his team have shot the film across several picturesque locations in India, Scotland, Georgia and France. Earlier on, it was writer Anant Mahadevan who was set to co-direct the film along with Madhavan, but he walked out of the project after 20 days of shoot due to reasons best known to the team. However, Maddy has successfully completed close to 80% of the shoot and will be getting the film ready in time for a release in the final quarter of the year.
