Megastar Mammootty may have done a ton of films in his mother tongue Malayalam over the years, but 2019 has indeed begun differently for him with a straight film each in Tamil and Telugu hitting the screens. Mammootty is just getting into terms with the hugely positive response that his recent release Peranbu has been receiving, but he will soon be moving upwards to garner attention and attraction for his February 8th release Yatra, a real-life story based on the 68-day-long march of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy.
Directed by Mahi Raghav, the straight Telugu film bagged a clean U certificate without any cuts from the censors and is largely looked forward to by his fans in the Tollywood circle too. Contrary to the usual norm of biopics, Yatra has a run time of just 126 minutes which would prove to be an added advantage.
It is really great how the star manages different languages with ease, as he has made his appearance around the south in important films and is also a voracious follower of all the industries.
