Popular Malayalam actress Manju Warrier is all set to make her Tamil debut this year with Dhanush’s Asuran, which goes on floors from the 26th of January. After a plethora of interesting and impressive films in Malayalam cinema, Manju will be looking to have a solid start through this punchy film which has quickly found its place amongst 2019’s most anticipated releases. Dhanush confirmed the same through a tweet on Tuesday.
Though it has been revealed only now, a source from the unit tells us that Manju was brought on board the project last year itself, soon after the release of Vada Chennai. The team will be moving to Tirunelveli on Friday, where they will be kick-starting the first schedule. The first schedule will go on for a period of three weeks, post which the team will take a short break.
Asuran also marks Dhanush and Vetrimaaran’s reunion with composer GV Prakash, after their memorable albums in Polladhavan and Aadukalam. The film is expected to be ready in time for a Diwali release this year. The actor-director duo will be moving to work on the Vada Chennai sequel by the end of the year, with plans in place to bring it to the big screens by the end of 2020.
