A National Film Awards held recently in Hyderabad saw a galaxy of stars in attendance. Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Mohan Babu among the senior heroes; Vidya Balan, Keerthy Suresh, Raashi Khanna, Catherine Tresa, Aditi Rao Hydari among the current lot of heroines, and many more attended this grand gala in which achievers from Telugu cinema were honored for their work last year. Many other general cinema related awards were also given. Vishal and Khushbu were also spotted at the event.
When Chiranjeevi took to the stage, the audience’s curiosity to know more about his upcoming magnum opus Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy was high. The Megastar added a few words about the film but didn’t open up on its release plans. “When Ram Charan had signed Magadheera, I told him that he was quite lucky to get the opportunity to act in a period costume drama in just his second film. I also told him that in my career spanning almost 150 movies, I never had the opportunity to act in such a period costume drama. Charan remembered that and decided to produce Sye Raa himself; it’s like his gift to me, “said Chiranjeevi.
Meanwhile, Charan and his 2018 blockbuster Rangasthalam were big winners at this awards night, with honours like Most Popular Film, Best Hero and Most Popular Director.Read More
