Nandamuri Kalyan Ram's 118, co-starring Nivetha Thomas and Shalini Pandey, is in the final stages of post-production. The film marks the directorial comeback of cinematographer KV Guhan, who earlier helmed the Tamil film, Inidhu Inidhu. The trailer of 118 was released on Friday night with a grand trailer launch event. The entire cast and crew of the film wore a black badge on the top of their attire to showcase their respect for the CRPF soldiers who lost their lives in the Pulwama attack in Kashmir.
Coming to the trailer, this 1 minute 53 seconds video definitely kept the audience and the viewers intrigued that maintained great suspense until the very end. Kalyan Ram and Shalini Pandey seem to be the romantic couple who spend their best days of life until a case investigation comes to Kalyan Ram. A mysterious crime changes the life upside down for Kalyan. From the trailer, it looks like Nivetha might be having an intense role to play, who is likely to be connected in some way to the crime. But, wait! Is she an imaginary character created by Kalyan? Something fishy, right? Yes, that happens to be the best part of the trailer and one can be assured that 118 will be quite different from the mainstream Telugu films. At least, the trailer promises to be. However, on the downside, there are lip sync issues in the trailer and hopefully, that gets corrected in the theatrical final version of the film. If not, it will be a difficult watch for the audience.
Bankrolled by Mahesh S Koneru for East Coast Productions, 118 will hit the screens on March 1. The music is scored by Shekhar Chandra and editing is taken care by Thammiraju.
