Ace actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui made a trip down to Chennai for the audio launch of Petta on Sunday evening. He plays Singaar Singh, one of the main antagonists in the film.
Nawazuddin expressed wonder that he had never attended a frenzied, packed audio launch event like this and that it was as grand as a Filmfare Awards night. Rajinikanth, Vijay Sethupathi and Karthik Subbaraj spoke about his extraordinary acting skills and how he can effortlessly steal the show without the knowledge of the other co-actors. Nawaz said that working with so many good actors was a great learning process for him.
It was an entertaining moment when Karthik Subbaraj recollected how he tweeted Nawaz during a chat session (#AskNawaz) asking the actor whether he would ever do a Tamil film and how he didn’t get a reply for the question.
Nawaz spoke about how people see Rajinikanth’s films all over the world and how he could spot Rajini’s posters when he was shooting for a film in remote Kenya. The anchors of the show asked Nawaz to repeat a world famous dialogue (“naa oru thadava sonna, nooru thadava sonna madri”) from the Superstar’s iconic Baasha and the actor obliged sportingly.
