Mollywood fans are waiting with bated breath for Mohanlal’s Lucifer to release. Since not much has been made public about the film, audiences are getting impatient and anxious to know what the theme of the film is going to be. Now, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Mohanlal and scriptwriter Murali Gopy, have requested fans to stop spreading rumours about their upcoming film Lucifer, after an alleged introduction scene of the protagonist, rumoured to be part of the script, began doing the rounds on social media.
Prithviraj Sukumaran shared a screenshot of the Facebook post of an anonymous user who detailed the scene. The screenshot, supported by bits of information already out on promotional posters, revealed that the protagonist commits a murder in the rain and looks at the person one last time before taking off in his black Ambassador car with the nameplate 666. Prithviraj shared screenwriter Murali Gopy’s Facebook post calling them ‘never-ending rumours’ with the hashtag #StopLuciferRumours.
Lucifer is currently in the post production stage and is gearing up for release later this month. Very little details about the film have been revealed so far. It is touted to be a political thriller and Mohanlal, the male lead, plays a politician called Stephen Nedumballi. The film also has Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith and the Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi in pivotal roles. Those in the support cast include Kalabhavan Shajon, Sai Kumar, Saniya Iyappan, director Fazil, Sunil Sughatha, Thara Kalyan, Praveena Thomas, Nyla Usha and Mala Parvathy.
Late director Rajesh Pillai and Murali Gopy are the brains behind Lucifer and they wanted to make this movie many years ago. However, due to various reasons, the movie failed to take off then.
