The loss of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel to a horrible terror attack which took place on Thursday, is one of the most disheartening incidents that has taken place in the recent past. The incident took place at Awantipora in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, where more than 350 kg of explosives were put to use.
While the whole of India is left shell-shocked by the issue, some stars from Kollywood and Tollywood have expressed their sorrow and condolences through their Twitter pages.
NGK star Suriya was one of the first to talk about the issue, saying that he is deeply saddened and heartbroken to know about the cowardly attack. Suriya also tweeted a verified link where one can offer individual donations to the affected families. It is to be noted here, that the star is playing the role of the Prime Minister’s bodyguard in his upcoming film Kaappaan, and had also met and spent time with a lot of army officials during the shoot of the film.
Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu also came to the fore and expressed his sadness.
Actor Siddharth came out with a strong statement, urging the government to reply strongly to the issue.
Actor Jiiva, who is back in the limelight this year after a long break, has commented on the situation too.
This terror strike has exceeded the size of the Uri attack which took place in 2001, leading to 19 deaths. The Indian army replied to the attack with a cross-border surgical strike through which a lot of terror spots were destroyed.
