Superstar Rajinikanth has allotted 90 days call sheet for his next yet-untitled project with ace filmmaker AR Murugadoss. Basking in the glory of his recent box-office super-hit, Petta, Rajinikanth will soon hear the final narration of the film, which is likely to be bankrolled by Lyca Productions. Murugadoss had already narrated the story a few weeks back and Rajinikanth had suggested a few corrections to be made in the final draft before the film starts rolling in March.
The project would mark Rajinikanth's second collaboration with Lyca Productions after the sci-fi magnum-opus 2.0, which broke several records and set new benchmarks in a few regions at the worldwide box-office. However, 2.0 was not an entirely profitable venture for all the stakeholders involved, including Lyca. The shooting of this highly anticipated film, which also marks the first-time association of Murugadoss and Thalaivar, is expected to be wrapped up before the end of the first half of 2019.
Murugadoss had earlier worked with Lyca in Vijay's Kaththi, which was their first production venture in Tamil cinema. With Petta's substantial box-office success of over Rs 220 crores global gross and Murugadoss' last outing, Sarkar with Vijay raking in the moolah at the ticket window with over Rs 250 crore from worldwide theatrical sales, this brand new association has already grabbed the attention of Kollywood cinephiles since the momentum is suitable for both of them.
Keerthy Suresh is said to be the front-runner to grab the leading heroine role in the film. Earlier, rumors were rife that the film had been titled Naarkaali (Chair) and several versions of fan-made posters also started doing the rounds before Murugadoss put everything to rest by denying it on his official Twitter page.
