Superstar Rajinikanth hasn’t involved himself in active politics yet. It’s been more than a year since he first announced that he will be entering politics but even the name of his political party hasn’t been announced yet. The Superstar keeps mentioning that the ‘time’ hasn’t arrived yet. But whenever the media hounds him for his opinions on hot political issues, he offers his opinions diplomatically. He has also united all his fans in the different parts of the state under the aegis of Rajini Makkal Mandram.
Rajinikanth has now stated through a press release that he has no intention of contesting in the upcoming Indian general elections and that he won’t be supporting any particular party. He clearly states that his aim is the next TN state elections. Rajini has also advised the public to vote thoughtfully and rationally. He raises concerns over the water scarcity issues in the state and hopes that the next government would work towards this issue and frame good policies.
Kamal Haasan has meanwhile made it clear that he will be contesting the upcoming general elections itself. Though many have commented that it’s a very ambitious move by the veteran actor but novice politician, Kamal doesn’t seem to be deterred in his mission.
