At the detailed RRR press meet held on Thursday morning, one of the film’s lead heroes Ram Charan, who plays Alluri Sitarama Raju in the movie while the other hero NTR plays Komaram Bheem, also had a word to say about his father Chiranjeevi’s under-production Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. To a poser on how it feels to play a celebrated freedom fighter at the same time as his dad, Charan said,"Me and my dad playing freedom fighters at the same time is purely coincidental and not planned. We intend to release Sye Raa in the second half of this year.”
Charan also added that the film Sye Raa would be released in the second half of 2019. With uncertainties over its release date and whether the film will be pushed to next year due to delays on its production front, this statement from Charan is bound to pacify fans of megastar Chiranjeevi and also ease some uncertainties in the Tollywood trade.
Surender Reddy is directing Sye Raa, a film which also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Amitabh Bachchan among others. Amit Trivedi is scoring the music while Rathnavelu is handling the camera for this period magnum opus. Ram Charan tasted a lot of success producing his dad’s Khaidi No.150, which released to blockbuster results in January 2017; he would be hoping to repeat the same with Sye Raa as well.
