After the success of Raja The Great, ‘Mass Maharaja’ Ravi Teja is reeling under the pressure of back to back flops like Touch Chesi Chudu, Nela Ticket, and Amar Akbar Anthony. He is currently shooting for Disco Raja in which he supposedly plays dual roles of father and son. Payal Rajput and Nabha Natesh are his onscreen pairs in this experimental sci-fi entertainer directed by VI Anand with music composed by Thaman. Disco Raja is touted to hit the screens for the Dussehra festive season later in the year and an exact date would be announced later.
Ravi Teja would also be kick-starting the shoot of his next film, the remake of Thalapathy Vijay’s blockbuster Theri, in April. The Tollywood buzz is that the shoot of this film would begin on April 15th, by which time Ravi Teja would have wrapped a majority of his work in Disco Raja. Catherine Tresa is touted to play one of the female lead roles in this remake which had both Samantha and Amy Jackson in Tamil. Santosh Srinivas, who had earlier directed the blockbuster Kandireega, would be helming the remake.
Theri was a police story which also had an engaging father-daughter angle, and the film was a big blockbuster in the summer of 2016. The producers (Mythri Movie Makers) and Ravi Teja would be hoping to repeat the success in Telugu too.
