After a lot of anticipation and waiting, the release date of the Telugu dubbed version of Thala Ajith’s mega-blockbuster Viswasam (titled the same in Telugu too) has been finalized as March 1st. The Kannada version titled Jaga Malla will also release on the same date. The window between the Tamil release and the dubbed versions’ release date is a massive 50 days!
Jaga Malla has already been censored with a U rating and is all set for its release. NNR Films will be releasing the film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and they have reportedly procured the rights for a meager sum of 1.5 crore. Internal business is going on in full swing now, and the final Telugu theatricals may be valued at close to 3 crore.
The film meanwhile begins its 7th-week theatrical run in Tamil Nadu still holding on to many shows and screens across the state. Viswasam will complete 50 days on Feb 28th and fans have already planned many celebration shows in popular theaters. The film sits on top as the highest grossing direct Tamil film in the state. Whether Viswasam can cross the 200 crore gross mark worldwide, depends on how the dubbed versions perform! Viswasam will also be premiering on Amazon Prime on Feb 25th.
