After a fantastic opening 10 days, the RJ Balaji - Priya Anand starrer LKG finally started dropping during the weekdays of its 2nd week. But the film has done enough to be termed a blockbuster success. LKG has grossed about 16 CR in TN after 2 weeks, with the Chennai city gross being 2.78 CR. The film has also done pretty well in the overseas belt, grossing 80 lakhs in UAE - GCC and 56 lakhs in the USA at the end of 2 weeks. LKG is the 4th highest grosser of the year in TN after Viswasam, Petta and Dhilluku Dhuddu 2. The film is expected to hang on in its 3rd week, with a decent show count in the urban centers of TN.
RJ Balaji is meanwhile getting good reviews for his role and performance in the just-released Boomerang. He appears in an impressive flashback portion and is seen as a young activist who stands up for farmers and fights for their issues, along with Atharvaa and Indhuja. The film overall is being termed strictly average but it is yet another good outing for Balaji, who scores with his trademark dialogue delivery and energetic screen presence.
Balaji will be seen next in the long-pending Jiiva - Nikki Galrani starrer Kee, which will release this summer. He is also touted to play a key role in the magnum opus Indian 2, which is currently mired in production issues.
