And that’s why, SS Rajamouli’s announcement on Alia Bhatt being the leading lady in his big-budget extravaganza RRR is such a special one. Alia, who is paired up with Ram Charan, will be playing a significant role in the film, with her character being an important tool in taking the story forward. Her inclusion has put fans round the nation in a happy state, with the actress too showcasing her excitement through a statement.
“Working with Rajamouli sir is a big big tick off my bucket list. Also, to be alongside Ram Charan and Jr. NTR is an absolute honour. I am very excited about this experience and also working in the south for the first time. I begin shoot in less than a month. I will be playing the role of Sita, and the film is set in the 1920s backdrop,” said the actress, who immediately accepted to be a part of the film after Rajamouli met her in Mumbai and narrated the script. The Raazi actress also took to Twitter to share her excitement.
After her spectacular show in Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy, Alia Bhatt is now gearing up for the release of the period romance drama Kalank which hits the screens on the 17th of April 2019. Alia will also be seen in the mammoth fantasy adventure Brahmastra, which has Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. The official logo of the Christmas 2019 release was recently launched at the Kumbh Mela. Apart from all this, Alia has a special cameo to play in Student of the Year 2, which stars Tiger Shroff.
