Veteran actor Sathyaraj is easily one of the busiest artists in the industry, with a long list of films to his name. The actor will next be seen in Aishwarya Rajesh’s Kanaa, a sports drama focusing on the life of the protagonist to the Indian women’s cricket team. Speaking at the pre-release event of the film, Sathyaraj said “Everybody has a Kanaa (dream). My dream is that our film should become a really huge blockbuster in China, just like how Aamir Khan’s Dangal did. Making the audience cry shows the strength of the director, but in the climax of Kanaa, I’m sure that the audience will be simultaneously crying and clapping at the same time. Apart from all his directorial skills, I am also thankful to director Arunraja Kamaraj for having my leader Periyar’s photo in the background in one of the scenes.”
Aishwarya Rajesh, who plays the lead in the film, gave out an emotional speech saying that after she lost her father at the age of 10, it has taken her these many years to find a father-like figure in Sathyaraj.
Rising star Sivakarthikeyan, who is also the producer of the film, plays an important cameo in Kanaa. The actor will be seen essaying the role of an elderly cricket coach to Aishwarya’s character at the second swing of her career. The film is all set to hit the screens on the 21st of December.
