It looks like Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has suddenly made up his mind to break into the southern film industries. Already playing an important role in Mohanlal’s Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, the actor will also be seen in Kichcha Sudeep’s Pailwaan. Adding to that, Suniel has reportedly locked himself a role in Varun Tej’s upcoming boxing drama which is to be directed by Kiran Korrapati, an assistant of Srinu Vaitla.
According to sources, Suniel recently went through the entire script, and was largely impressed with the role and the acting scope that it provides. The project will soon be going on floors, with Varun already working on his torso to fit into the shoes of a boxer. The young actor has been undertaking a special training course under 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Tony Jeffries, picking up the tricks of the trade. In order to make the boxing ring sequences look as realistic as they can, the makers will be roping in noted stunt choreographers from Hollywood very soon.
Varun Tej’s last outing was the big blockbuster F2: Fun and Frustration, where he starred alongside Venkatesh. The film which had Tamannaah and Mehreen Pirzada as the female leads grossed more than a 100 crores at the box office and is the most profitable Telugu film of the year till date. Varun is also in talks to essay Bobby Simha’s role in the Telugu remake of Tamil hit Jigarthanda, which was directed by Karthik Subbaraj.
