Suriya’s Kaappaan is quickly progressing towards the finish line. With two of its actors in Arya and Sayyeshaa getting married, the team was forced to take a break. But they will soon be resuming the shoot for the final schedule with which the film will be wrapped up, and shifted completely into the post-production stage. According to sources, Suriya only has about a week of shoot left for this film, which he will be addressing on top priority.
In a recent interview, the film’s art director Kiran has compared the pace of the film to two of director KV Anand’s early set of films in Ayan and Ko. Though Suriya and KV Anand joined hands once again after Ayan for Maattrraan, the film was pushed away by a set of audiences, who said that it lacked speed and was uneven with its narrative. However, Kiran said “Everybody gets easily excited when KV Anand, Suriya and Harris Jayaraj come together. Even though Maattrraan exists, people are still asking for a film like Ayan. Kaappaan will surely bring back the rapid narrative and tension into the frame, you can expect big things.” Earlier on, the film’s editor Anthony too had put out a confidence-boosting tweet, calling it an energetic thriller.
Apart from its strong technical crew including cinematographer Abhinandhan Ramanujam, Kaappaan has a glitzy star cast featuring Suriya, Mohanlal, Arya, Sayyeshaa, Boman Irani, Samuthirakani and Poorna. Produced by Lyca Productions, the film is getting set for an August 15th release worldwide.
