The much-awaited NGK teaser was released on Thursday by actor Suriya. Produced by Dream Warrior pictures’ SR Prabhu and SR Prakash Babu, the film is directed by Selvaraghavan and was in the cans for quite a long time. Even the fans had gotten restless to catch a glimpse of their favourite hero. Finally their wait was over with the release of the teaser.
The teaser opens with Suriya’s voice introducing himself as Nandha Gopalan Kumaran, informing that he is being called NGK by his people. The teaser also shows the actor as someone who is socially responsible, fighting for his people, educating them on agricultural practices etc. He also seems to be fighting for their cause with intense vigour. There is Bala Singh who expresses his desire that how it would help if people like Suriya enter politics.
There also seems to be some protest of sorts in the footage. Sai Pallavi who is playing the lady lead encourages Suriya further and says that even sewage will become clean when Suriya enters it. There is Rakul Preet Singh but we are not sure from the teaser what role she would be playing, perhaps some social activist. The teaser ends with Suriya saying, “Kaathiruppom”, meaning, ‘let’s wait’. Apparently, this can be understood from the perspective of the viewer as the wait for the release date. Some of the shots remind one of the Ram Gopal Varma’s Raktha Charithram Suriya with the thilak on his forehead.
Yuvan Shankar Raja's background score is energetic, and the visuals of Sivakumar Vijayan seem to convey an intriguing narrative. Looks like NGK may perhaps turn out to be one of the well made political thrillers of Selvaraghavan. “Kaathiruppom’ as Suriya says!
