Just as his recent Viswasam has emerged as his career-best grosser and also one of the biggest ever grossers in Tamil Nadu, Thala Ajith has sent out an open press statement addressing a lot of issues. The main purpose of this statement is to establish the fact that he isn’t interested in electoral politics, directly or indirectly. With the elections approaching fast, Ajith refutes all recent claims and news reports that he is interested in getting into the political fray.
He states that his only connection to politics is as a voter standing in a queue to vote on election day, like any other common man, and that he has never enforced his political views on his fans. Ajith adds that he expects his fans also to approach politics independently and not be influenced by others, and also to not use his name or image in relation to any particular political party or political event. It must be noted that Ajith had disbanded his official fan organization back in 2011 to avoid political shades and interferences.
Ajith has also boldly included a line on social media fan wars, on how he never endorses or accepts it when his fans indulge in degrading other heroes and media personalities. Ajith closes his statement with some sound words of advice for his fans, requesting them to focus on their studies, better their livelihood, respect law, and order, stay united and forget differences, take care of their health and treat other human beings with respect. He ends the statement with his trademark “live, let live” line.
Thala is getting unanimous praise for this press statement which makes it clear that he will never involve himself in politics nor include his policial thoughts and ideology in his future films.
