Viswasam is now all set to have Telugu and Kannada dubbed versions released towards the end of this month or in early March. Thala Ajith is no stranger to Kannada dubs as almost all his recent films were dubbed and released in Karnataka to fairly successful results. The Kannada dubbed version of Viswasam is titled Jaga Malla and will be released by Studio Horizon, who have already released the Tamil version to superhit results. Viswasam has grossed more than 10 CR in Karnataka after 29 days; this is a very good gross number as there have many other successful films such as URI, Petta and F2 running in this period in the state (Karnataka is a state where all language films have a good market).
The Telugu dubbed version of Viswasam will also have a simultaneous release along with the Kannada version. The Telugu theatrical rights are worth about 1.5 CR (2 CR+ with print and publicity expenses). Ajith doesn’t have a big market in Telugu, and this rate is said to be very nominal for the stakeholders to recover their investment.
Given the huge blockbuster success of Viswasam, we can expect its dubbed versions to attract a fair amount of traction from the fans of Thala Ajith in AP, TS and Karnataka, and the family audience in general.
