After a successful outing as a radio jockey and a comedian, RJ Balaji is all set to enthrall the audiences as a solo lead with the political satire LKG, which hit the screens on Friday. The film has released amidst high expectations from the youngsters, especially due to the pop culture references and digs taken at popular politicians and the media. This film deals with the life of a ward Councillor - Lalgudi Karuppiah Gandhi, (played by RJ Balaji), who aspires to achieve something big in the field of politics. This KR Prabhu directorial has fetched good and positive reports from the audience.
The trailer, which crossed over 5 million views on YouTube, was a super hit success among the audiences. The trailer had many references to current day political happenings and one of them was the sarcastic dig taken at the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The last shot of the trailer features actor Santhana Bharathi practicing his fitness exercise and challenging actress Kajal Aggarwal to take it up. This was a spoof of a real-life incident that happened in our country when Narendra Modi challenged actress Anushka Sharma on similar lines. That sequence was highly expected by the audiences but they only ended up facing disappointment at the theatre.
It is a very common practice in cinema to edit out the scenes that might seem unnecessary by the editor. Those shots would have been initially shot but wouldn't find a place in the final version of the movie. It looks like, 'I challenge Kajal Aggarwal' is one such sequence, which had to be edited out.
