Varun Tej’s December release in Antariksham didn’t do too well at the box office, but his recent outing in F2: Fun and Frustration has turned out to be a successful venture, earning itself the tag of the Sankranthi winner. Varun, who has decided not to experiment too hard in his career hereon, has just signed up a new film with debutant director Kiran Korrapati.
Touted to be a boxing drama, the new film will go on floors in February. Arjun Sarja, a popular actor down south, has been roped in to play the role of Varun Tej’s coach in the film. With a high emotional value, the film will focus on the relationship between a struggling boxer and his coach. Arjun was earlier seen in Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya, and can also be recalled by the Telugu audiences for his menacing performance in Abhimanyudu, the dubbed version of Vishal’s hit Irumbu Thirai.
The film will be produced by Varun Tej himself along with Allu Arjun’s brother Bobby. Varun is now spending the extra hours at the gym to fit into the role perfectly, while the rest of the team are concentrating on the pre-production and casting process. According to sources, two heroines will be roped in for this venture.
