T Subbarami Reddy is a well known politician, film producer and industrialist. He has produced films in Hindi, Telugu, Sanskrit and Tamil. For the Sanskrit film Bhagavad Gita which he produced, he had won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film at the 40th National Film Awards. Every year, Subbarami Reddy celebrates Maha Shivarathri in Vizag where usually many devotees gather to offer their prayers to Lord Shiva. This year also, he will be performing the Koti Sivalingarchana and Mahakumbhamela at the Rama Krishna Beach in Vizag.
2019, also marks another interesting event on the Maha Shivarathri day, which falls on the 4th of March. Subbarami Reddy will be honouring veteran actress Saroja Devi on this day at Vizag with the title of Viswa Nata Samragni. This award will be one more feather in the already highly decorated cap of the legendary actress who also goes by the moniker 'Abinaya Saraswathy', in Kollywood. Our sources said, “Saroja Devi Madam will be honoured with the award of Viswa Nata Samragni from Subbarami Reddy sir, on Maha Shivarathri day at Vizag”.
Many prominent celebrities and film personalities like Jamuna, Vanisri, Geethanjali, Meena, Suman and playback singer P Suseela are expected to attend this event. Saroja Devi was one of the top heroines in her heydays wherein she had acted in movies across the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi industries. She is also called 'Kannadathu Paingili' and has featured alongside legends like Sivaji Ganesan, MG Ramachandran, NT Ramarao, Gemini Ganesan and many other such stalwarts of that time.
