Last year, it was reported that Vijay Sethupathi had taken up the role of a dialogue writer for an untitled film, starring Vikranth in the lead role. He had even co-written the screenplay of the film, which was to be directed by Vikranth’s brother, Sanjeev. In an unfortunate turn of events, we hear that the film is now shelved for reasons unknown. Vijay Sethupathi had already penned dialogues for his own production venture Orange Mittai and fans were eager to see his work in this project too.
Now the latest we hear is that the duo is set to get back together for a film, again! Our sources say, “They have dropped the already announced project since things didn't fall into place as planned. However, they are teaming up again for a different film altogether. This film will be based on North Chennai's boxing culture. The lead hero will be seen playing dual roles in the film and Vijay Sethupathi will be writing the screenplay and dialogues for it.” Isn’t that exciting news? Although nothing has been officially revealed yet, it will be interesting to see how Sethupathi manages his time for this project, alongside all the other films he is currently tied up with.
Sethupathi is currently awaiting the release of his debut Telugu flick Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and his debut Malayalam film Mathai Marconi. Rumours are abuzz that he will be playing the main villain in an upcoming Telugu movie that will have Megastar Chiranjeevi’s nephew Vaishnav Tej as the hero. As for Kollywood, Makkal Selvan has an array of projects in the pipeline including Super Deluxe, Kadaisi Vivasayi, Sindhubaadh, Thuglaq, Maamanithan, an untitled film with director Vijay Chander and a couple of others.
