In one such interview, the star actor opened up a bit on what we can expect from Petta, “I like Karthik’s writing in all his films. He will have some surprise element to hook and tease viewers. Petta will have a lot of that. His entire family loves Rajini sir completely, and he has just celebrated him in Petta. There is so much to like in Rajini sir - his style, attitude, comedy sense, cuteness and a lot more. You can see all this in Petta; it’ll be a treat for fans. The film has turned out really well.”
Sethupathi also said that he feels proud that he could do Seethakaathi, a film which was initially planned by director Balaji with legends Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. He added that between 96 and Seethakaathi, he was in a position to choose either of them as his 25th film and that he chose the latter due to a special attachment with the subject.
