One of the busiest and most sought after actors in South cinema currently - Vijay Sethupathi is having a number of projects in hand. The shoot of his Maamanithan with director Seenu Ramasamy has just come to an end and is moving into the post-production stage. He has a number of other movies that he is a part of. Earlier, Vijay Sethupathi got embroiled in a controversy when he voiced his opinion over the ongoing Sabarimalai issue.
While this controversy is still fresh in our minds, Sethupathi has contracted another. Recently, there were photos circulating online, which quoted Vijay Sethupathi as making a controversial statement against the holy scripture - Bhagavad Gita. The quote read, "Bhagavad Gita isn't a holy book. The current poor situation in our society is due to such books which have been fabricated out of imagination."
Responding to these reports, Vijay Sethupathi took to Twitter and posted a clarification. The post read, "My dear people, I have never spoken ill of the Bhagavad Gita nor any other holy book and shall never do so at any point of time in the future too. All the recent confusion is due to hate spread by a few social miscreants. Whatever the situation may be, I will never do anything to disrupt the peace, faith and unity of my people."
He also went a step ahead and posted the original photo alongside the duplicate photo which had been morphed graphically to make people believe that he had made degenerating statements against the Bhagavad Gita.
