Despite the release of Dev and a few other small films like Oru Adaar Love, Viswasam continues its magnificent run in TN holding about 125 screens in its 6th week. With the tepid initial response that Dev has generated, Viswasam and last week’s new release Dhilluku Dhuddu 2 are bound to have a very good weekend in theaters across the state. Viswasam is already the highest grosser in TN among Kollywood films, as we have already reported.
The Telugu dubbed version of the film (also titled Viswasam) is meanwhile gearing up to release on March 1st. The Telugu theatrical rights have been procured by NNR Films R Nageshwar Rao, and it will release in the two Telugu states as well as Karnataka. The Kannada dubbed version of the film titled Jaga Malla is also expected to release on March 1st.
Ajith has meanwhile started shooting for his next film (AK 59) in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. This is the official remake of Pink, as already reported, and Thala will apparently be seen in his trademark grey hair, bearded look in this film too. There are some murmurs that the film may not release on May 1st as initially planned; the team hasn’t responded yet to such rumours. Sivakarthikeyan’s Mr Local has already locked this release date, well in advance!
