Dhruv Vikram's Adithya Varma, the new version of Arjun Reddy's remake is in the pre-production stages and the team is on the process of finalizing the actors and the rest of the technicians for the film. The latest we hear from our sources is about the addition of a new actor in the film. Popular social media and YouTube sensation Anbu Thasan will play an important role in the film. He will play the role of Dhruv Vikram's friend, who would travel throughout the film. Rahul Ramakrishna played that character in Arjun Reddy.
Anbu Thasan, who rose to fame with his YouTube videos on Smile Settai and Black Sheep, earned a vibrant fan base on social media. Anbu made his silver screen debut with Hiphop Tamizha's directorial, Meesaya Murukku. Later, he bagged an important role in Nayanthara's Kolamaavu Kokila. Anbu's performance as LK in this Nelson directorial fetched him appreciations from the audience. He is currently part of Sivakarthikeyan's second production venture, that is being made by his team of Black Sheep. He will look to use this big opportunity to prove his mettle as an actor. An official word is expected on this regard.
This new version is directed by debutante Gireesaaya, who worked as an associate director in the original version, helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Bankrolled by E4 Entertainment, Adithya Varma has October fame Banita Sandhu and Priya Anand playing the female leads. With a complete revamp of the cast and crew, Adithya Varma is slowly shaping up in a new form. The shooting is expected to take off by late March or early April. The Tamil remake of Arjun Reddy was initially made as Varmaa with ace director Bala at the helm. However, in a shocking turn of events, Bala's version of Varmaa did not satisfy Dhruv's father, Chiyaan Vikram and the producer. The makers later decided to scrap the already made film and start afresh with a new cast and crew, retaining Dhruv Vikram, which is now getting ready as Adithya Varma.
