Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Badla produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies makes it to the theatres today. The basic plot of the film is that Taapsee Pannu gets involved in a mess and Amitabh Bachchan comes to her rescue. Naina Sethi (Taapsee Pannu) has allegedly killed her lover Arjun (Tony Luke). How did this happen is yet to be known but this scene gets her into a legal trouble as she is being charged with murder. One of the top lawyers Badal Gupta played by Amitabh Bachchan takes up her case. He reaches her house to ask her the details of the case. And that's when the movie actually begins. A lot of back and forth takes place as Naina reveals a lot of stuff about the incident.
So far, so good, we would say! The first half of the film is average as we have not come across any nail-biting scene. However, we'll say that Amitabh Bachchan and Amrita Singh have put up a great show and they are ones holding this film.
The movie is a remake of Spanish film The Invisible Guest and Badla seems to be a scene-by-scene copy of the film. At least in the first half. Only the genders have switched. Now let's see if there's something new in the second half for us.
