Baaghi 2’s rendition of Madhuri Dixit starrer Ek Do Teen has faced more backlash than applaud since its release earlier this week. As Bollywood fans reminisce the charm of the song, the Jacqueline Fernandez starrer remake stands as nothing short of a classic spoiler. But all is not lost for Jacqueline as there is still one man standing by her side, Salman Khan. Early morning on Thursday, March 22 the star took to social media to show his support for the song and in successive remakes of Bollywood classics. But his message did not come without a cryptic undertone.
The tweet reads as absolute support for his Kick co-star and as encouragement for Bollywood’s fresh faces to take up remaking challenges. He even included Varun Dhawan in his tweet whose last film Judwaa 2 was a reboot of Salman’s 1997 hit Judwaa. The remake even crossed the 200 crore mark. Salman’s support can be seen as his forever well-meaning habit of backing those he loves in the industry. But the support remains only on the surface.
Despite his encouraging words for Jacqueline, he does mention the fact that matching up to the golden standards of Madhuri Dixit is a hard task. Even bringing alive Saroj Khan’s choreography is not easy and Salman knows that. In a cryptic way he mentions ‘legendary moves of Saroj khan difficult to match Madhuri.’
Fan reactions to the tweet have a different story to tell altogether. Blinded by their adulation for the star, they forgo his support for the song and instead pinned their anger on Jacqueline. While one bright follower assumed that the tweet had been written by Jacqueline from Salman’s phone, others called the tweet yet another act of charity from Salman’s side. While applauding his support for fellow stars, they did mention that his goodliness is what makes most stars take advantage of him.
Jacqueline for now may regret her decision to step into Madhuri’s dancing shoes but Salman certainly does not see it as a mistake.
