Shweta Bachchan on Navya Naveli's Bollywood debut: I know the hate Abhishek gets, it bothers me
The Bachchan family is one of the most influential families in Bollywood. Just like the senior Bachchans, Shweta Bachchan’s daughter Navya Naveli is extremely famous too. The young lady enjoys a huge fan following and is a big-time paparazzi favourite. You might be wondering what’s keeping Navya away from Bollywood then? Recently, Shweta Bachchan got candid about the same on an episode of Koffee With Karan, which brought her and Abhishek Bachchan on the couch together. Along with which, she also threw light on nepotism.
When Karan quizzed her if Abhishek’s career is the reason behind her keeping Navya away from the celluloid, she replied, "Absolutely yes! I’m on Instagram and I follow my brother and know the hate he gets. Whether you like him as an actor or not, it will bother to me as a sister. I hated it.. it gave me sleepless nights and I don’t want yet another member of my family to be in this business for selfish reasons. Firstly, I don’t know what Navya’s talent is. Just because she is related to some famous people, doesn’t mean she has what she takes."
She added that she feels Navya can join the industry only if she is completely driven and has the talent and feels passionate about it.
Well, regardless of how much we wish to see Navya on screen, she has no plans of entering the industry either. A few years back, she was asked about the same. To which, the 22-year-old replied saying that she is ‘no way making a career in acting’. "I am enjoying my internship at the advertising agency. I love the independence I get in Manhattan," she said in an interview with Vogue India.
