The RRR press meet held on Thursday morning in Hyderabad was packed with exciting information to satiate the appetite of news bugs. After briefly talking about the film, director SS Rajamouli, the film’s heroes NTR and Ram Charan, and producer DVV Danayya addressed the queries of the press for more than 40 minutes.
When one of the journalists asked Rajamouli on how a tale centered on two Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem, would resonate with the national audience (RRR would be released in up to 10 Indian languages) and whether they would be able to follow the tale, Rajamouli said, "I hope that this announcement about the film’s plot would lead to non-initiated people searching for more information about the significance of these two Telugu heroes. Audiences across India have seen our heroes in larger-than-life roles and perform gravity-defying stunts. RRR will showcase a different side of our cinema."
NTR seconded Rajamouli and said, "The biggest impact of RRR would be the world coming to know of these real Telugu heroes. I'm not talking about the onscreen Tollywood heroes but the real heroes of our land." While doing so, NTR also let out a tongue in cheek troll at North Indian people pronouncing Telugu as ‘Telegu’.
The RRR team clearly has a greater purpose which goes far beyond just commercial success and critical acclaim. The producer DVV Danayya is sparing no expense and the film is being readied at a massive budget in the range of 350 - 400 crores. We can’t wait for July 30, 2020!
