TV mogul Ekta Kapoor recently embraced motherhood and the world was overjoyed for her. The producer followed the footsteps of her brother Tusshar Kapoor and welcomed her first child, Ravie Kapoor, via surrogacy. The queen of soap operas in India earlier shared how she wanted to be a mother for many years but nothing seemed to work out. She then opted for surrogacy and learned about the pregnancy in June 2018. But being a full-time mother hasn’t stopped the filmmaker from fulfilling all her professional commitments. However, it has also filled her with all kinds of guilt.
During a recent chat with Film Companion, Ekta revealed what a task it is to fulfil her mother duties and focus on work simultaneously. "I think the first thing you think as a mother is guilt. I don't think anyone would say that so openly. I am at work, I am feeling guilty, when I am at home, there is a lot of guilt about not completing the things that I used to normally do. So you are just dealing with various kinds of guilt."
“Then it's responsibility and third is a feeling that there's someone there that you want to see grow. It's a bit confusing at this moment. It has been 25 days as of now,” she added.
Ekta also revealed how Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput Kapoor added her to an all moms’ group on Whatsapp while she was writing a script for a parenting show.
She said, “By mistake once, Mira Kapoor added me to a mother’s group. And I was like ‘oops how can I leave this group’ and I was hearing these conversations and writing my script and said ‘this is fantastic’.”
The naming ceremony of her little one was held on February 11, which saw the presence of many popular faces from the industry. We are yet to receive the first picture of the munchkin and hope that happens soon!
