The theatrical trailer of Tamil film Aramm, released on Wednesday and superstar actor Nayanthara looks fierce as she leads the team, playing a district collector fighting the bad world of politics. Directed by debutant Gopi Nainar alias Minjur Gopi, the film revolves around a drought-hit village in Tamil Nadu and a de-glam Nayanthara stepping up to the game.
Aramm, shot on the drought-hit barren lands, will showcase how water scarcity affects the everyday lives of people. Much like the social-message based films by male stars, the film seems to be a political drama highlighting the plight of the farmers, whose cry for help doesn’t usually reach the people in power. The film promises realistic performances along with Nayanthara in a never-seen-before role. The film also features Ramesh and Vignesh of Kakka Muttai fame in supporting roles. Aramm is gearing up for a theatrical release on November 10.
Aramm seems to be a game changer in many aspects. Known mostly for her glamorous appearances in big budget films, Nayanthara, is the most sought after heroine in Tamil and Telugu film industry. However, Aramm showcases the highest paid south Indian heroine in an all-new look. The film shows the actor in a grey, cotton saree with muted make-up.
The 'Lady Superstar' Nayanthara has a long list of upcoming interesting movies in her hand. This includes Sivakarthikeyan’s Velaikkaran and Nivin Pauly’s upcoming film Love, Action, Drama. Nayan is also playing a lead role in Imaikkaa Nodigal, which marks the Tamil debut of Bollywood actor-filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. Moreover, she will be seen in big budget Telugu films like Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Jai Sima and Chiranjeevi’s period film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.
