The actor shared that he was never considered hero material due to lack of a conventional handsome face.
Celebrities may forever come across as confident and glamorous but they too have their own share of insecurities like any ordinary being. No matter how famous they get, they too share their own set of short comings that they try to overcome or have overcome. For actor Ajay Devgn who has several hits to his name, this was the case. The actor shared that he was never considered hero material due to lack of a conventional handsome face.
“When I had started out in the industry, there was this huge buzz that he is a very ordinary looking guy and he won’t make it. He won’t become a hero. I used to hear all of that, and it felt like a Hichki. But finally I didn’t listen to any of that and went ahead (with my acting),” the actor told actress Rani Mukerji. The secret sharing comes as Rani has been going around Bollywood asking top celebrities about hichkis they faced. Devgn joins the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anil Kapoor who had previously shared their short comings in the series.
Ajay Devgn’s latest release Raid has so far been doing decently at the box office despite the absence of positive critic reviews. However like of most his flicks, Devgn continues to drive his film with the force of serious content.
Rani’s upcoming film Hichki is based on the life of an aspiring teacher suffering from Tourette’s syndrome. The movie is slated for a March 23 release.
