Telugu actor Nani’s first production venture ‘Awe’ starring an ensemble cast of Kajal Agarwal, Nithya Menen and Regina Cassandra among others will hit the big screens on February 16. The upcoming quirky fantasy drama boasts of three heroines with three distinct characters and looks. The movie introduces the audience to a fish and a Bonsai plant as two of its characters which are voiced by Nani and Ravi Teja respectively. If the movie hasn’t left you with an ‘awe’ of it already then, there’s more! The trailer does the remaining justice to the leading ladies when their names lead the credit roll.
The trailer, packed with layers teases its audience at the several key points. Nithya Menen reaches philosophical tangents with the role when her character questions, “How can you call God’s creation, a sin?” Several media reports already suggest that Nithya Menen plays a lesbian character and the dialogue seems to be an indication of her character’s orientation. Regina Cassandra who fights against drugs herself faces monotony in her life. Finally, Nani, the fish, says a deep philosophical line, “Fish have tears as well, and we just don’t see them!”
The film which has been beautifully shot with crisp cinematography shows a warm and sepia colour tone for Nithya and Eesha Rabba, but a cold and grey colour tone for Kajal with Regina indicating their darker sides. Directed by debutante filmmaker Prashanth Verma, the film also stars Srinivas Avasarala.
