With great power comes great responsibility has always been the proposed philosophy of Spiderman but ever wondered about the responsibilities of a Villain? Or the making of one? Get ready to know one as Sony launched the teaser trailer of Venom, Spiderman’s ace villain starring Tom Hardy. Starting out like any other superhero film, it begins at peace and reaches chaos.
This is the first-spin off from the production giant’s Marvel universe and will be directed by Zombieland’s Ruben Fleischer. While the movie talks about the rise of the devious villain, he does not feature in any form in the close to two minute teaser. This might just explain why the film is rumoured to have got an R-rating in the US instead of a PG-13 as is usual for superhero movies.
While the tease may not contain any graphic elements, it does have the usual elements of a superhero trailer in the form of burning cars, shocked citizens and heavy wind blows. An added shot to this tirade however is Tom Hardy giving off Exorcist like expression atop an MRI table. This is possibly to signal his transition into a villain.
Venom as character has long been side-lined even in the Marvel world, it surfaced on screen only in 2007 in Spiderman 3. However, Venom is expected to bring more light to the character when it hits screens in UK and US on October 5.
