Mukesh Ambani’s elder son Akash Ambani is now engaged to Shloka Mehta, the youngest daughter of Russell Mehta, the billionaire diamond trader. The ceremony took place in Goa on Saturday, March 24 in the presence of Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani and other close family members. Though there has been no official statement from the family, a local website claimed that the wedding would take place later this year.
Akash is Nita and Mukesh Ambani’s eldest son. While Mukesh Ambani is India’s richest man, heading Reliance Industries, Russell Mehta runs Rosy Blue Diamonds, one of the world’s largest diamond trading companies. Shloka is the youngest daughter of Russell and his wife Mona. According to reports, the Ambanis and Mehtas know each other quite well. Shloka and Akash had studied together at Dhirubhai Ambani International School.
After finishing her schooling in 2009, Shloka went on to study Anthropology at the Princeton University. She pursued her master in Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Currently, she is the director of Rosy Blue Foundation and the co-founder of ConnectFor, a platform which matches volunteers with NGOs that need them in Mumbai.
Akash Ambani is on the board of directors of Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail. Earlier this month, there was speculation about them getting married around December.
