AI or Artificial Intelligence can do many things these days. From driving cars to spotting cancer. From trading stocks to finding new use for old drugs. But the latest that this tech can do has raised many eyebrows.
It can guess your sexual orientation. Gay or straight? With one look at your face.
A study in Stanford University analyzed around 35,326 facial images and created an AI algorithm which can accurately predict whether one is gay or straight by just looking at a single facial picture. According to the study gay men have feminine facial features while their female counterparts were more masculine.
The algorithm predicted correctly whether a man is gay or straight with a remarkable accuracy of 81 percent, while the same AI stands at 71 percent accuracy level when it analyzed female facial pictures. The accuracy level in the cases of women is low but it is still impressive as a human analyzer guessed the sex of both men and women with much lower accuracy. The human analyzer stands at 61 percent accuracy level in case of men and 54 percent for women.
Moreover, the accuracy level of algorithm increased when it analyzed five facial pictures of the same person.
Although AI technology faced critical response from Elon Musk who believes it will be the reason behind World War III what the recent development strongly suggests is that a person is gay by birth and being queer is not a choice.
