The Union Budget 2018 announced by Arun Jaitley is already being regarded as a budget designed to help out distressed farmers and the rural areas. It is also seen as being designed to improve growth, jobs and private investments. For this year’s budget, the winners are clear and it also includes companies related to agriculture.
Here’s a list of all those who have benefited from the Union Budget 2018.
For the past year, farmers have been protesting everywhere in the country. The new budget hopes to raise the minimum price of produce that is currently being offered to farmers. Jaitley also announced more money for rural areas which includes irrigation and agricultural projects. It also orders state governments to buy extra solar power that is generated using solar-powered pumps owned by farmers.
The government plans to set up a flagship project titled National Health Protection Scheme which is meant to ensure Rs 50 crore for 10 crore poor families. The budget for health, education and social security has been pushed up from Rs 1.22 trillion to Rs 1.38 trillion.
Jaitley promised a lot of expenses on infrastructure, roads and railways. This would benefit several construction and engineering companies as well as builders of trains and wagons. A sum of Rs 50 trillion has been allotted for infrastructure. National Highways covering 9,000 kms are planned for completion. The railways will benefit from the installation of wifi, CCTVs, a focus on safety and maintenance of railway tracks.
As much as 60 percent gold demand comes from rural India and with the budget paying a lot of attention to rural incomes, companies selling gold could see benefits.
